Weekend

Hot Cali Summer

The weather has been really unbearably hot here! And it looks like it’s going to be another HOT week. It’s been like this for the last three weeks or so. I try not to move too much because I just start sweating if I do.  We do have AC but we try not to use all the time.  It’s  so expensive. I really hope it starts cooling down soon.. I hate summer time!

Loneliness

I have been single for almost 3 years now! I have to say I hate it. It was nice at first but now I’m pretty lonely. I did try the online dating thing. My daughters talked me into it. I went on one date. The guy was gorgeous but we had no chemistry. And I also have to worry about fake men on the dating site that i belong to. I keep getting messages saying certain accounts might be unsafe. Seriously?!……. Being single really sucks!!! But I know it’s better than being with someone and settling. I just miss sharing things with someone…

Not sure how I did it…

About five months ago I tore my right rotator cuff. Not really sure how I did it. Maybe I did it when picking up my granddaughter. I’ve always had problems with this shoulder. Every 3-4 months I would get a cortisone shot but the last one didn’t work. That’s when my doctor ordered an MRI and found the torn rotator cuff. It’s been really hard to do anything with it. I’m waiting to be called to start physical therapy. I also need to see the orthopedist. I really hope they call soon. I just want to feel better.

Much love!

Life

Its been awhile…

Wow! It’s been awhile since my last post. So much has happened since then. I recently turned 50 years old last month. I still can’t believe it. 50 seems so old but at the same time I know it’s not. So for my birthday my daughter who lives in New York came home to surprise me. I was so surprised that when I opened the door I thought it was a mirage! I wasn’t expecting it at all. She had me on video looking kinda stupid. But of course after I realized it was real I jumped and screamed like crazy. Then we went out to dinner and I had another surprise. All my family and some of my friends were there. It was so wonderful to see everyone.

Then at the end of May I decided to go to North Carolina to go visit one of my very close friend. I haven’t seen her in a few years. We met when she was only 19 years old. She’s 40 now. North Carolina was beautiful. She took me to the beach. I’ve never seen the Atlantic Ocean before. I loved it. And people were so nice.

After a couple of days we drove to Washington DC and took the Amtrak to New York City to go see my daughter. She hasn’t seen her since she was a little kid.

New York was beautiful. My daughter played our tour guide. Since she lives in Brooklyn we took the ferry to NYC! The streets were pretty empty since it was Memorial Day. Perfect day to take the tour. We saw Wall Street, Stock Exchange, Trump Tower, The Twin Towers Memorial and Central Park. We walked over 21,000 steps. Then when we got back to her apartment my cousin was cooking up a feast. It was a great day!

I had an amazing birthday! And my friend and I made a pack that every year we are going to take a trip just the two of us. We get so busy with life that we forget to take care of ourselves. So next year we are going to Costa Rica!! It’s going to be amazing!!

Much love!

Busy, busy, busy

I decided to start selling my scarves on Etsy. I told my daughter that I can only make them so many. She started laughing at me. So I’ve been working on that. It’s up already but I still need to make it pretty but I need money for that which I do not have at the moment. I’ve also knitted three scarves for the website. A part of me feels like no one will ever want my creations because there are so many other people out there definitely better than me. But I also know I just need to keep at it to get better. Sorry for being a little negative. Its been a bit crazy around here…

Life is good…

Back in September 2015 my husband decided he no longer wanted to be married. It was pretty devastating for me. I wanted to work at it but he didn’t. I moved in with my parents along with my cute little Maltese Milo. It was very hard. But I had my daughter Elizabeth’s wedding to concentrate on. She got married in November . It was of course perfect. Then on Valentine’s Day I found out she was pregnant. I was ecstatic!! It’s been something I’ve been wanting forever but she wanted to make sure she got her career thing done first. About a couple of months later she asked me to move in with her and her husband. She wanted me to help her with the baby. I of course said yes. There was no way I would deny her.. Yes it was hard at first but we’ve made it work. Watching my child with her daughter has been so amazing for me. My daughter is such a good mom and it makes me happy.

Since being laid off, I’ve been able to spend more time with my grand daughter. I’ve enjoyed it very much. This is something I’ve been wanting to do since she was born. I didn’t want to miss anything. It’s hard to believe sometimes that she’s a part of me. I love her so much!

Since my divorce I feel like so many great things have happen in my life. It only makes me think that things happen for a reason! “A Reason, A Season or A Lifetime”

Much love!

Finished scarf

I finished scarf #2! This one is for my daughter Ashley who lives in New York. I really hope she likes it. It didn’t take very long to make. It took me about three days. The pattern was pretty easy. I’ll have my daughter Liz take it with her next month when she visits her. I’ll probably make another one before then too. I’ve forgotten how much I love to knit. I’m still very much a beginner. I haven’t knitted anything else other than scarves. Maybe I will get out of my comfort zone and knit something else.

Hope you’re having an amazing day!

Much love!
